Share your Maker Story: How/why did you start?
During the pandemic, Katy was unexpectedly laid off, facing job hunting challenges and lots of downtime. Turning to her favorite hobbies for comfort, she thought, “Why not make something of my own?” Inspired by the books, movies, and games she loved, she took a leap and transformed her home office into a creative studio! ✨
Opening her Etsy store “hometovvne” and watching it grow from a small collection of stickers to a brand beloved by fans! Her first sale was a huge moment of pride that she’ll never forget 🌟
Have you faced any challenges, and how did you overcome them?
Katy faced the technical challenges of design and the reality of financially sustaining her dream. But her determination pushed her through, learning new skills and working day by day to grow her store.
What are your future plans for being a Maker?
She plans to expand her product line even more, finding new ways to bring her love for pop culture to fans everywhere. Look out for more custom designs and unique collections! ✨
