The pandemic led her to reevaluate her nine-to-five as an editor, sparking her dream to work as a freelance illustrator. Despite no formal training in illustration, she jumped in, learning new techniques and unlearning old habits to discover her own vibrant style. Her love for art history and English literature enriched her understanding, but it was the world of comics and graphic narratives that sealed her path to illustration! 💫📚

Taking the leap to pursue her passion as a full-time illustrator is Polina’s proudest moment. She’s been able to share her art with audiences far and wide, and she’s excited about each step forward! 🌟

Have you faced any challenges, and how did you overcome them?

Polina admits that sometimes, her illustrations don’t turn out as expected. When things don’t work, she’s learned to step back, recharge, and try again. A walk, a cup of tea, or a nap helps her reset and return with fresh ideas! ☕🧘‍♀️

What are your future plans for being a Maker?

Polina dreams of creating official movie posters or book covers someday. She also plans to keep expanding her creative reach, bringing her illustrations to more places and audiences around the world! 📖🌍
